Now Open: Outstanding Mentor Nominations and Presidential Scholar Essay Contest

Outstanding Mentor Nominations

The ABAI Student Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Outstanding Mentor Awards.

Mentors play an essential role in shaping career paths. To honor those who have provided exceptional support to their students, the Student Committee established the Outstanding Mentor Awards. Recipients will be acknowledged during the Presidential Address at the ABAI 52nd Annual Convention in San Francisco, CA. This is a wonderful chance to publicly express gratitude to your mentor for their invaluable contributions.

To make a nomination, please complete the nomination form. You will be asked to upload a brief rationale describing your experience with your mentor and why they deserve the award. The deadline for nominations is December 10, 2025.

Presidential Scholar Essay Content
Essays are now being accepted for the 2026 Presidential Scholar Essay Contest! All current ABAI Student members are encouraged to submit an approximately 1,000-word essay about the important contributions of this year’s Presidential Scholar, Doreen Granpeesheh, and how those contributions relate to behavior analysis. Information about Dr. Granpeesheh may be found on her website.

Students may work individually or in groups of two or three. Submissions must be made by December 10, 2025. The Student Committee will judge essays and the winner will be informed in January.
The winner(s) of the essay contest will be awarded the following prizes: • publication of the winning essay in Inside Behavior Analysis • dinner with Dr. Granpeesheh and distinguished ABAI members during the 2026 Annual Convention • a free one-year subscription to an ABAI journal
Submissions must be made here (you will be asked to log in to your ABAI portal account, then be directed to the submission form).

We look forward to hearing from you!
